 I received from Professor Battinger an invitation to attend to the international meeting organized around microsurgery early in October this year.

As a matter of fact we have built some relations with the team or Pr Battinger. I gave in Tomsk, in April 2008 two lectures about transplantation, and, in return Pr Battinger and three other members of the university of Tomsk attended in Lyon to the meeting of the French association of Transplantation in December 2008 that I presided. Pr Battinger kindly invited me in April this year to give other lectures in October. Unfortunately, as I mentioned as early as May 2009, by mail to Pr Battinger, there were conflicts on my very busy schedule, and I was not sure to come. In the meanwhile, air planned tickets have been taken in July without my confirmation. I checked with my team and I could not find someone with a sufficient academic level to replace me for the lectures. Unfortunately it appears from the message or Pr Battiger that these tickets were taken on the basis of a non open fare and are not refundable. I am really sorry for this situation, but there is really nothing I can do about it.

I am not sure that my intervention directly at the company Air France could be of help, but I will try anyway.

I am really sorry of that event, and I have no doubt that the meeting organized by Pr Battinger will be a real success, he has indeed an real international reputation.
